    MAKE YOUR OWN D-RATION INSTRUCTIONS KIT

  • D-RATION INSTRUCTIONS KIT
  • MID WAR D-RATION BOX

  • Now sold only in easy to use Pre-Printed Label Kit form. Labels are high quality printings of all the labels needed to make the individual components of the D Ration. Printing and most measuring is no longer required. Just cut them out inside the pre-printed cut lines, fold and paste them onto the recommended foodstuffs.

    The D-Rations made from the kits below closely replicate the combat ration of the U.S. Army in World War Two, the Field Ration Type D. While they are not completely accurate renditions of the originals, they look remarkably close to the originals to all but the most well informed militaria collector or historian and best of all, they are edible. Every attempt has been made to locate commercial foodstuffs that are as close as possible to the original meals and edible components. Food products recommended in the kits are available in most large grocery stores, and the other required materials are available at most large office supply stores or specialty shops. No actual materials, foodstuffs, or boxes are contained in the kits.

    Non-toxic paints and glues should always be used in conjuction with and in the preparation of all food products. Packaging methods recommended are meant only for the short term storage of foodstuffs and are not meant for the long term storage of foodstuffs.

    Each kit contains the pre-printed labels to make 6 D-Rations of each type, as well as an instruction article on the individual ration with:

    • An instructions article containing complete information on how to make each ration and the products and materials needed to make each ration with detailed diagrams and instructions, along with pictures of the completed kit rations;
    • Tips on where to obtain the the necessary materials and foodstuffs; and
    • A short history of each ration with period images of the actual rations and components.
